Step back in time with one of our free History Amongst the Headstones talks — a fantastic experience for local history lovers, taphophiles and families alike.  Held outdoors in the peaceful surrounds of the cemetery during Brisbane’s milder winter months, these sessions let you soak up fascinating stories of the past while relaxing on your chair or picnic blanket with drinks and nibbles under the shade of the equally historic trees. Each year, we announce a fresh lineup of engaging speakers covering a variety of intriguing cemetery-related topics — please keep an eye on the schedule below, as you won’t want to miss these!

Talks generally run for around 45 minutes, followed by an informal Q & A session, and take place near the office in the centre of the cemetery.  History books, wider cemetery information and free tea and coffee will also be available from our stalls.
