Join us for Watery Graves — a cemetery tour honouring those claimed by the sea, and those who served it.

You’ll walk among the headstones of sailors, lightkeepers, ferrymen, and mariners whose lives were shaped — and sometimes ended — by the Brisbane River and Queensland’s coastline.  This evocative experience brings to life the triumphs, tragedies, and untold tales of our maritime past.

Through archival records, local lore, and haunting memorials, you’ll hear true stories of love, loss, duty, and disaster — all anchored in Queensland’s maritime heritage.

Among the stories you’ll hear:

🌊 Two brothers, one sailboat, and a river that never gave them back
🔥 Keeper of lights, bearer of messages — and a grave that still faces the sea
🌧  A flood, a fatal swim, and modern whispers of fake-lore foul play
🛳  A ferry lost to raging floodwaters, and a city left in mourning
Born on Mulgumpin, bound to the sea — the mariner who gave a street its name

Whether you’re a maritime history buff, a local legend lover, or simply seeking stories with depth, Watery Graves will leave you with a deeper appreciation for those who lived — and died — by the water.

Because some souls never truly leave the sea.

All of our tours are not-for-profit, with all money raised going to our cemetery history and maintenance projects.
